Eph 6:13-17

13 Therefore take up the whole armor of God, that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand. 14 Stand therefore, having girded your waist with truth, having put on the breastplate of righteousness, 15 and having shod your feet with the preparation of the gospel of peace; 16 above all, taking the shield of faith with which you will be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked one. 17 And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God;

We are looking at the Armor of God. Each day we are looking at each individual piece of armor, with an excerpt taken from the study called "Use the Sword 101"

Today we look at the third piece or armor, which is: 15 and having shod your feet with the preparation of the gospel of peace;

Put on, shod, wear, action words. Also when you think of sandals, if you look at the ones the soldiers used to wear, they were laced up the legs. It was no small task to lace up these sandals, but it served a purpose, which was to hold the sandals in place as well as to help protect the lower leg.
Another commentary I read said: This part of the armor, is for the feet, is needful, considering what a journey we have to go; what a race to run. Our feet must be so shod, that our footsteps slip not.

To put on the gospel of peace, you don't go places where the Lord doesn't want you to go.
