with God

Eph 6:13-17

13 Therefore take up the whole armor of God, that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand. 14 Stand therefore, having girded your waist with truth, having put on the breastplate of righteousness, 15 and having shod your feet with the preparation of the gospel of peace; 16 above all, taking the shield of faith with which you will be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked one. 17 And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God;

We are looking at the Armor of God. Each day we are looking at each individual piece of armor, with an excerpt taken from the study called "Use the Sword 101"

Today we look at the second piece or armor, which is: having put on the breastplate of righteousness,

So what is the Breastplate of Righteousness?
When satan attacks us, one of the things he likes to point out to us is, how much of a sinner we are. He also likes to remind us that God does not like sin (and he should know first hand). But what he chooses not to tell you is about Jesus' righteousness.
That's right, the breastplate of righteousness we wear as believers is Jesus Christ!

  • Romans 4:24-25 (NLT) 24 It was for us, too, assuring us that God will also declare us to be righteous if we believe in God, who brought Jesus our Lord back from the dead. 25 He was handed over to die because of our sins, and he was raised from the dead to make us right with God.
