John 11:1-2

1 Now a certain man was sick, Lazarus of Bethany, the town of Mary and her sister Martha. 2 It was that Mary who anointed the Lord with fragrant oil and wiped His feet with her hair, whose brother Lazarus was sick.

Right now in our weekly study, we are going through this chapter speaking of Jesus raising Lazarus from the dead.
In the story there are three main characters other then Jesus. Martha, her sister Mary, and their brother Lazarus.
Jesus loved all three very much, and they were all special in Jesus' life.
But did you notice something? Even though Jesus loved them so much, they still went through trials. In this story they are going through the trial of Lazarus being sick and even dieing.
We tend to think that if we go through trials that the Lord doesn't love us any more or He is mad at us.
But that's the farthest thing from the truth.
God allows us to go through trials to strengthen us and refine us, making us into the men and women He wants us to be.
All we see is the trials we are going through, but the Lord sees the end results and how we become better Christians because of our trials.
So the next time you are going through trials, go back and read John chapter eleven and know that you are in good company, that company includes Jesus who is watching over you!
