with God

Luke 10:20

"Nevertheless do not rejoice in this, that the spirits are subject to you, but rather rejoice because your names are written in heaven."

As Christians we tend to put a lot of emphasis on the gifts of the Holy Spirit.
When we think we have done something great for the kingdom of God, we get all excited.
But when we don't, we tend to look down on ourselves.
But we tend to forget why the Holy Spirit is in the world.

  • John 15:26 "But when the Helper comes, whom I shall send to you from the Father, the Spirit of truth who proceeds from the Father, He will testify of Me.

  • Sure the Holy Spirit does give us with gifts to minister to others, but His main objective is to testify of Jesus.
So go ahead and rejoice when you are gifted and use those gifts to minister to others. But always rejoice, because of what Jesus did on the cross, so that your name would be written in the Lambs book of life.
The rejoicing is not in what you did, but what Jesus has done for you, and me too!
