2 Tim 3:16 (NLT)

All Scripture is inspired by God and is useful to teach us what is true and to make us realize what is wrong in our lives. It straightens us out and teaches us to do what is right.

There are hundreds of books out there that have the promises of God from the bible.
They are bought by the thousands even millions each year as people want something to make them feel good.
But there is more to the bible then just these promises of comfort to us.
The bible will teach us and show us when we are doing something wrong also.
In the bible there are other promises from God then just these good promises. There are promises of pain and destruction in your life if you follow the wrong path.

  • Prov 5:22-23 (NLT) An evil man is held captive by his own sins; they are ropes that catch and hold him. 23 He will die for lack of self-control; he will be lost because of his incredible folly.

  • Prov 22:8 (NLT) Those who plant seeds of injustice will harvest disaster, and their reign of terror will end.

  • Isaiah 50:11 (NLT) But watch out, you who live in your own light and warm yourselves by your own fires. This is the reward you will receive from me: You will soon lie down in great torment.

  • 1 Cor 6:9-10 (NLT) Don't you know that those who do wrong will have no share in the Kingdom of God? Don't fool yourselves. Those who indulge in sexual sin, who are idol worshipers, adulterers, male prostitutes, homosexuals, 10 thieves, greedy people, drunkards, abusers, and swindlers--none of these will have a share in the Kingdom of God.

  • I wonder why these books don't add these to them, probably because no one would buy them if they did.
    But they are in there.
So when you read the bible, don't look for just the things that make you feel good, but rather allow the Holy Spirit speak to you so that you do, do good.
