5 Minutes a day / 5 Days a week

with God

Luke 19:35-38

35 Then they brought him to Jesus. And they threw their own clothes on the colt, and they set Jesus on him. 36 And as He went, many spread their clothes on the road. 37 Then, as He was now drawing near the descent of the Mount of Olives, the whole multitude of the disciples began to rejoice and praise God with a loud voice for all the mighty works they had seen, 38 saying:
" 'Blessed is the King who comes in the name of the LORD!'
Peace in heaven and glory in the highest!"

You may have known this, but I just learned this today.
The passage we are reading in today's devotional, is about what we call Palm Sunday, which happened a few weeks ago.
But the actual date that this happened was on the 10th of Abib on the Jewish calendar.
"So what" you may be thinking.
Well this was the day that the Jews were to choose the lamb for the Passover.
Also on this day as we know it as Palm Sunday, the Jews wanted to make Jesus their king. In other words, they had chosen, (without even knowing it) the lamb that was to be sacrificed to save then from death. And that lamb was Jesus.
I don't know about you, but I think that is cool to find out stuff like this in the bible. That's how exciting the bible is. There is so much cool stuff like this throughout the bible and the only way you will find it is by reading and studying the bible. Or as I did by listen to others teach the bible.
So take time today and everyday to read God's word, and ask God to show you something cool that you can share with others.
