with God

1 John 3:1-3

1 Behold what manner of love the Father has bestowed on us, that we should be called children of God! Therefore the world does not know us, because it did not know Him. 2 Beloved, now we are children of God; and it has not yet been revealed what we shall be, but we know that when He is revealed, we shall be like Him, for we shall see Him as He is. 3 And everyone who has this hope in Him purifies himself, just as He is pure.

In my office at work, I have pictures of my wife and children. Throughout the day I look at them and wish I could be with them.
Sure the pictures are fine to look at, but you can't kiss a picture and have it kiss you back. You can't hug a picture and have it wrap its arms around you.
A picture is ok, but there is nothing better then being with the ones you love, rather then looking at their pictures.
Even the men and women fighting in Iraq have pictures of their families with them. It helps them make it through the war they are in, and gives them a hope of what they are returning home to.

When you read the bible it's like looking at a picture of Jesus, God and the Holy Spirit. As we read the bible we long to see the Lord. Rest assured that soon we will all be home, and no longer looking at the picture of the Lord through His word, but rather we will get to see him, talk to him, kiss Him and hug Him.
Until that time, look at the picture everyday.
