Rev 21:21

The twelve gates were twelve pearls: each individual gate was of one pearl. And the street of the city was pure gold, like transparent glass.

Have you ever wondered what heaven looks like? We all have.
Here in California it has been beautiful lately. Blue skies, white clouds, and perfect weather. But no matter how beautiful it is here right now, it is nothing compared to what heaven will be like.
Think about today's devotional verse, which gives us a glimpse of what heaven will be like. Street of the city was pure gold
Think about that, the same thing we walk on, drive our cars on and even spit on here on the earth is the same thing the streets in heaven are made of, except for here the streets are made of asphalt, but in heaven they are made of gold.
So if you think about it, the thing we call most precious here on the earth (gold), is considered nothing more then asphalt in heaven.

It reminds me of a joke I heard where a man died and his request was that he could take the bars of gold he acquired here on the earth with him. When he got there the one angel asked the other, "Why did he bring asphalt with him?"

Gold is so precious to us, but is nothing in heaven. Makes you wonder just how awesome heaven will really be.
We will find out when we get there. I'll see you there!
