5 Minutes a day / 5 Days a week
with God
Psalms 25:5
Lead me in Your truth and teach me,
For You are the God of my salvation;
On You I wait all the day.
My little girl loves oatmeal, but she doesn't understand that it takes time to make it. All she knows is that she is hungry.
Even as a little baby, when she wanted her bottle, she wanted it now. She didn't realize that it took time to put the milk in the bottle or even the 30 seconds to warm it up in the microwave. Those 30 seconds seemed like eternity to her. As adults we think that 30 seconds to warm-up a baby bottle is no time at all.
We are like children sometimes in our prayer time. We cry out to God asking Him for things and wonder why we don't get instant service.
After all we have instant coffee, our pizza delivered in 30 minutes or less, drive through restaurants where we tell a clown what we want to eat, and by the time we get to the window our food is ready. We can have our oil changed, windows washed and all the fluids checked in less then 20 minutes.
We are in an age where we don't have time to wait. We want it all now, and if we have to wait, then we will go somewhere where we don't have to wait.
What have you asked the Lord for?
Did you get instant results, or are you waiting?
Did you get weary in waiting and try other means to get what you wanted?
Is there now a mess to clean up because you couldn't wait?
Did you know that to wait is a blessing?
Isaiah 40:31 But those who wait on the LORD
Shall renew their strength;
They shall mount up with wings like eagles,
They shall run and not be weary,
They shall walk and not faint.
So wait on the Lord and thank Him for this blessing.
