with God

Prov 10:12

Hatred stirs up strife,
But love covers all sins.

One of the easiest things in the world to do is argue with someone.
If someone makes you mad it's so easy to turn on them with words of anger and bitterness.
After all they deserve it for the way the treated you, at least that's what Satan want's you to think.
Hatred and rebellion is not of God.
Even when Jesus was being accused He did not return with words of hatred.
In fact He didn't even bring up all their wrong doings or their sins. He could of, Jesus knew mans hearts and their evil desires. But still He loved them.

It reminds me of a story of a young woman who was caught with another man although he was married. So quickly the religious leaders grabbed the woman (not the man) and brought her before Jesus for sentencing.
But they were all shocked when they heard Jesus' words of love and compassion towards her.

  • John 8:10-12 10 When Jesus had raised Himself up and saw no one but the woman, He said to her, "Woman, where are those accusers of yours? Has no one condemned you?" 11 She said, "No one, Lord." And Jesus said to her, "Neither do I condemn you; go and sin no more." 12 Then Jesus spoke to them again, saying, "I am the light of the world. He who follows Me shall not walk in darkness, but have the light of life."

  • We may all know this story of the woman caught in adultery but did you ever read the last verse? No, not verse 11 the story doesn't end there; but at verse 12

He who follows Me shall not walk in darkness, but have the light of life

Hatred is darkness, Love is light.
Looking at today's Proverb, are you walking in darkness or in the light?
When someone say's an evil or hatred word towards you, do you retaliate with dark words that cut into their heart not showing the love of Jesus.
Our do you ignore it and love them just as Jesus does.
That's right, Jesus loves the person and died for that person who is treating you wrongly.
So who are you to come against a person Jesus died for? Next time try letting them know that Jesus loves them and died for them.
And then try something even harder; try telling them you love them too!
And if you can't, ask the Lord to help you see them through His eyes of love.
The same eyes He sees and loves you with, even when you do something wrong against Him!!!
