2 Cor 11:4

For if he who comes preaches another Jesus whom we have not preached, or if you receive a different spirit which you have not received, or a different gospel which you have not accepted--you may well put up with it!

Just the other day I saw a web site that had a page that was titled:
The Christmas Story and Joseph Smith, Restorer of the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

What this particular website page contained was comparing Joseph Smith (the founder and false prophet of the Mormons) with Christmas.

The first thing it stated was that Joseph Smith was born on December 23 comparing it to when the wise men saw the star and the birth of Jesus.
The problem is that Jesus was not born on December 25 nor the 23rd.
The bible says that the Shepard's were watching their flock by night and they would not do this during the winter only in the spring or summer when it was warm outside. If they did do it in the winter their sheep would have died from the severe cold weather at night.
So we know Jesus was not born during this time at all.
Second they where comparing the three wise men with Joseph Smith and calling him one of the wise men of his day.
The problem is that nowhere in the bible does it indicate that there were three wise men and if you read the gospels correctly, they didn't show up until about two years later, and by then Mary and Joseph lived in a house.

  • Matt 2:11 And when they had come into the house, they saw the young Child with Mary His mother, and fell down and worshiped Him. And when they had opened their treasures, they presented gifts to Him: gold, frankincense, and myrrh.

  • I could go on and one with what they were saying and I won't give you the website address because it's a bunch of junk.
But I got very angry when I read this because of the false teaching they are presenting.
That's just one thing I hate with a passion, and that's false teaching of God's word!
I couldn't keep quite, so I e-mailed them letting them know their inaccuracies. And I had to add the following statement:
I guess it goes to show that if you are going to base all your teachings and beliefs on a false prophet such as Joseph Smith, you have to compare him to the false teaching this world has given about Jesus' birth.

One more thing they do just as a warning is they have commercials on TV that look so wholesome and good. What they are doing is presenting the Book of Mormon to you and will send you one for free. Do you know what they call this, even in the commercial?
    "Another gospel of Jesus Christ"
    Sound familiar?

  • 2 Cor 11:4 For if he who comes preaches another Jesus whom we have not preached, or if you receive a different spirit which you have not received, or a different gospel which you have not accepted--you may well put up with it!

  • Will you put up with this?
