Prov 10:4-5 (NLT)

4 Lazy people are soon poor; hard workers get rich.
5 A wise youth works hard all summer; a youth who sleeps away the hour of opportunity brings shame.

How many times do we read these Proverbs and use them to prosper here on earth.
The bible is not written so we can be successful, here on earth. Jesus even tells us about this in the book of Matthew:

  • Matt 6:19-21 19 "Do not lay up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and rust destroy and where thieves break in and steal; 20 "but lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust destroys and where thieves do not break in and steal. 21 "For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.

  • So reading today's Proverb and applying it to your walk with the Lord, How much are you earning in heaven, or what deposits are you making in God's bank of heaven?

Are you a lazy person who sleeps all the time when it comes to serving the Lord?
Or are you a hard worker like a teenager full of vigor and energy?

We are not called to accept Jesus, then just sit around twiddling our thumbs waiting for His return.

  • 2 Thess 3:11-12 11 For we hear that there are some who walk among you in a disorderly manner, not working at all, but are busybodies. 12 Now those who are such we command and exhort through our Lord Jesus Christ that they work in quietness and eat their own bread.

  • Even Jesus' words before He ascended into heaven were:

  • Mark 16:15 And He said to them, "Go into all the world and preach the gospel to every creature.

  • "GO" , So don't just sit there, start making deposits everyday in God's bank in heaven.
How? By praying, sharing Jesus with others, and helping those in need.
