2 Kings 5:10-11

10 And Elisha sent a messenger to him, saying, "Go and wash in the Jordan seven times, and your flesh shall be restored to you, and you shall be clean." 11 But Naaman became furious, and went away and said, "Indeed, I said to myself, 'He will surely come out to me, and stand and call on the name of the LORD his God, and wave his hand over the place, and heal the leprosy.'

Sometimes God asks us to do some strange things.
Sometimes we expect God to move in mighty was in our lives.
In today's devotional verses we are reading of Naaman who was the commander of the army of the king of Syria. Naaman had been stricken with leprosy and asked for Elisha the prophet to come and pray for him and heal him.
But Elisha didn't come, he just sent a messenger to Naaman who gave him instructions on what to do, and that was to dip seven times in the Jordan and then he would be healed. Well Naaman became furious because he wanted to see a great miracle in his life with all the fanfare of Elisha coming and waving his hand over him to heal him.
If you read on, you find out that Naaman did go to the Jordan and dipped himself seven times as he was instructed to and he was healed.

You may be in need and may want the pastor of your church to come to you. But he may just send someone else to minister to you. But that's ok, because it's not the pastor who will heal or minister to you, it's God who does it and we should always be seeking God and not any certain man to heal us.
So next time you are in need, seek the Lord and just ask Him to send whomever He wants to, to you. It may be the pastor or just a messenger, and what God may have you to do may not be what you expected, but God heals in His way, not ours!
