with God

Judges 16:4-6

4 Afterward it happened that he loved a woman in the Valley of Sorek, whose name was Delilah. 5 And the lords of the Philistines came up to her and said to her, "Entice him, and find out where his great strength lies, and by what means we may overpower him, that we may bind him to afflict him; and every one of us will give you eleven hundred pieces of silver."

6 So Delilah said to Samson, "Please tell me where your great strength lies, and with what you may be bound to afflict you."

We have all seen movies about Samson and Delilah. In these movies Samson is this big hunk of a man with muscles budging out of places I never knew we had muscles.
But you know what, this is a totally false interpretation of scripture.
How so? Notice what the Philistines said to Delilah "find out where his great strength lies"
They had no idea where Samson's strength came from because he was not a bodybuilder. In other words, Samson was very likely a skinny scrawny little guy, sort of like a Barney Fife from Mayberry.
I tell you this because there are a lot of movies that tell stories of the bible from the Ten Commandment to Samson and Delilah that are totally incorrect. Sure they do have some truths of the bible, but Hollywood wants to sell movies and cater to the people. They also do not have a true understanding of scripture and they try their best.
But don't think because you saw it in a movie that it's the truth of God's word. Check it out for yourself.
The real story is more exciting then any movie because only God can take a Barney Fife and turn him into a man of great strength!
