Psalms 40:8

I delight to do Your will, O my God,
And Your law is within my heart."


One thing we as men hate to do is take out the trash. I don't know why but we do.
Maybe it's because well know it's our job and we don't get paid for doing it?
But we do it anyway because it makes our wives happy.
Other things we seem to shy away from are doing the dishes and the laundry. Once again I don't know why, maybe because we don't think it's our job so we don't want to do it.

I'll let you men on in a little secret; they are all our jobs.

  • Eph 5:25 Husbands, love your wives, just as Christ also loved the church and gave Himself for her,


    • What if Jesus said, "I don't feel like dying for them today, I been working for three years and they don't listen to me. Plus there's a football game on TV that I have wanted to see. I'll do it later."

    But thanks be to God, Jesus didn't say these things. He was the perfect example of today's devotional verse.

  • Psalms 40:8 I delight to do Your will, O my God, And Your law is within my heart."


    • It was a delight for Jesus to do His Father's will.
    Has God asked you to do something lately that you have been putting off because you just don't want to do it?
    Today, repent of this sin and ask the Lord to give you the delight to do His will with a joyful heart.

    If you don't wash your clothes, you'll have to eventually take them out with the trash.
