II Sam 12:13 (NLT)
Then David confessed to Nathan, "I have sinned against the LORD."
Nathan replied, "Yes, but the LORD has forgiven you, and you won't die for this sin.
"The devil made me do it."
"I had no other choice."
" But did you see what they did to me?"
" I am just to weak."
When we fall into sin we seem to find someone or something else to blame instead of the real culprit, us!
In today's devotional verse, King David was caught with his sin with Bathsheba and how he had her husband killed to hide his sin.
When he was found out, he did make a bunch of excuses like blaming Bathsheba, or his men who brought her to him (at his request), he didn't even blame God (which we do sometimes). No King David knew he had sinned and confessed it to the Lord.
So next time you sin (and you will), don't make up a bunch of excuses or blame others, just admit it, accept God's forgiveness and continue walking with Him!
Psalms 32:1 & 5 Blessed is he whose transgression is forgiven,
Whose sin is covered.
I acknowledged my sin to You,
And my iniquity I have not hidden.
I said, "I will confess my transgressions to the LORD, '
And You forgave the iniquity of my sin. Selah
