5 Minutes a day / 5 Days a week
with God
Jer 15:16-17 (NLT)
16 Your words are what sustain me. They bring me great joy and are my heart's delight, for I bear your name, O LORD God Almighty. 17 I never joined the people in their merry feasts. I sat alone because your hand was on me. I burst with indignation at their sins.
If you where offered two ticket to the Super Bowl or the ability to spend three hours (about the same time a football game lasts) with God, which would you choose.
Sure the Super Bowl only comes once a year, but what if this was your opportunity to ask God anything you wanted for three hours, which would you choose?
Here's another question, do you remember what you did for the Super Bowl last year or how the game was? Do you recall the plays that where made by each team. What if you didn't watch it, would it have changed your life or the way things are today?
The whole idea behind these questions is the simple fact that we choose thing of this world above spending time with God. The things of this world leave us empty inside and seeking more.
The things of God leave us full and satisfied.
So am I saying you shouldn't watch the Super Bowl this year? No, I don't see anything wrong with it.
But remember the first question of being able to spend time with God for three hours and asking Him anything you wanted? This has been granted to you this very day, and everyday. That's right, when we pray we are spending time with God and we can ask Him anything we want. And when we study and read His word that is when He will speak to us and answer our questions.
So watch a football game, but to really be satisfied, spend time with the Father!
