Psalms 22:16-20
16 For dogs have surrounded Me;
The congregation of the wicked has enclosed Me.
They pierced My hands and My feet;
17 I can count all My bones.
They look and stare at Me.
18 They divide My garments among them,
And for My clothing they cast lots.
19 But You, O LORD, do not be far from Me;
O My Strength, hasten to help Me!
20 Deliver Me from the sword,
My precious life from the power of the dog.
Has a bunch of non-Christian ever confronted you as they grill you about your faith in Christ and there are no other Christians around to help you out?
That's what I'm reminded of when I read verse 16 as Jesus is there alone on the cross being mocked with no one else around to help Him.
But Jesus knew that God was there to give Him strength, just as He is here right now to give you strength no matter what you are going through.
"They pierced My hands and My feet"
Did you realize that Jesus died for the ones who were nailing Him to the cross, as well as the ones who were gambling for his clothes?
That is the ultimate love.
So what have you done that was so bad that Jesus can't forgive? According to Jesus the only thing that you could do is to deny Him till you die, then it's to late.
"20 Deliver Me from the sword, My precious life from the power of the dog."
God did not deliver Jesus at the moment He spoke these words, just as God doesn't take our lives when we think it would be better to die then stay here any longer.
God did give Jesus the strength to endure what He was going through on the cross.
So cry out to God in time of need, He is listening, but first you have to speak to be heard!
Psalms 19:14 Let the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart Be acceptable in Your sight, O LORD, my strength and my Redeemer.
