Jer 10:1-5 (NLT)

1 Hear the word of the LORD, O Israel!2 This is what the LORD says: "Do not act like other nations who try to read their future in the stars. Do not be afraid of their predictions, even though other nations are terrified by them. 3 Their ways are futile and foolish. They cut down a tree and carve an idol. 4 They decorate it with gold and silver and then fasten it securely with hammer and nails so it won't fall over. 5 There stands their god like a helpless scarecrow in a garden! It cannot speak, and it needs to be carried because it cannot walk. Do not be afraid of such gods, for they can neither harm you nor do you any good."

Some of the things people believe in and base their life upon.
Some have to read their horoscope every morning before they will leave their house. Some are so controlled by it that if it predicts anything possibly bad they will not even leave their house.

Some will take little plastic statues and glue them to their dashboards thinking this statue will protect them.

Some will make a statue with a big belly and rub the belly for good luck.

I know these all sound ridicules and down right stupid, by they are true things that happen everyday, even in this day and age.

There are so many things out there that even we as Christians start trusting and believing in that are just as foolish.
Like you have to take someone to church before they can be saved.
Or only your pastor can pray for you because God hears him better then anyone else.
Or you have to bow your head and close you eyes and if you don't say Amen, God wont hear you.

Little things we get caught up in because of traditions.
Today observe the things you do and ask God if these are what He wants you to do or if you are just doing it out of tradition?

You never know, you may have your eyes open and pray the sinner's prayer with someone at work. Just think, they will be saved right there at your job without you even taking them to church.
What will God think of next!
