Psalms 22:11-15 (NLT)
11 Do not stay so far from me,
for trouble is near,
and no one else can help me.
12 My enemies surround me like a herd of bulls;
fierce bulls of Bashan have hemmed me in!
13 Like roaring lions attacking their prey,
they come at me with open mouths.
14 My life is poured out like water,
and all my bones are out of joint.
My heart is like wax,
melting within me.
15 My strength has dried up like sunbaked clay.
My tongue sticks to the roof of my mouth.
You have laid me in the dust and left me for dead.
About 2000 years ago, Jesus hung on the cross, and as He was, this is what He was feeling.
Imagine being so thirsty that your tongue sticks to the roof of your mouth. But that's just the start of it. Imagine all your bones being out of joint and the pain throughout your whole body.
And on top of all this pain there are people mocking you and making fun of you.
This is what Jesus did for us 2000 years ago.
It's something to meditate on today as you remember what He did for you.
On Easter we remember that He rose from the dead, but we seem to forget the pain and agony He went through just for us three days before He rose.
Use this day to thank Him not just once today, but all day and every day!
John 15:13-14 13 "Greater love has no one than this, than to lay down one's life for his friends. 14 "You are My friends if you do whatever I command you.
Thank your best friend Jesus, for what He did for you 2000 years ago, so that you may live today!
