How was your New Years?
I hope it was safe and you enjoyed yourself.
At the end of the year, did you start to think of the New Years resolutions you would be starting the next day?
Maybe it was to read your bible everyday.
Possible lose weight, or quite smoking.
You could have said that you will not spend so much money this next year on things you don't need, or spend less time watching TV.
Some will join a gym and want to start an exercise program this year.
These are all good things, but one thing the Lord has spoken to me, just a few weeks ago in church is this verse in John.
Read it again.

  • John 17:1 Jesus spoke these words, lifted up His eyes to heaven, and said: "Father, the hour has come. Glorify Your Son, that Your Son also may glorify You,

  • We spend so much time asking from the Lord, letting Him know what our needs are, that we tend to forget why we are here and why we were created, and that's to glorify and worship the Lord.
God knows are physical needs and He will always takes care of us. But now, part of my prayer time every morning is for the Lord to provide the things I need to glorify Him.
Isn't that what Jesus was asking for here, not glory for Himself, but that the Father would be glorified.
So go ahead and do your exercises, eat right, spend less time watching TV and always read God's word.
But also ask the Lord to provide things in your life that will bring glory to Him, not to fulfill our own lusts.
