5 Minutes a day / 5 Days a week

with God

John 6:5-9

5 Then Jesus lifted up His eyes, and seeing a great multitude coming toward Him, He said to Philip, "Where shall we buy bread, that these may eat?" 6 But this He said to test him, for He Himself knew what He would do. 7 Philip answered Him, "Two hundred denarii worth of bread is not sufficient for them, that every one of them may have a little." 8 One of His disciples, Andrew, Simon Peter's brother, said to Him, 9 "There is a lad here who has five barley loaves and two small fish, but what are they among so many?"

With all the holidays, I have heard that many Christian organizations have been suffering financially. This is a shame because there are others around the world and even here in the USA who need help.

"So what am I to do?" You may be thinking. "I only have so much to give."

Kind of sounds like Philip in today's devotional verses. But if you read on, I think Andrew had the right idea, five loaves of bread and two small fish to feed 5000 men plus women and children.

But did you notice, someone (you or me) gave to the disciples (the church) who in turn gave it to Jesus. And what did Jesus do? That's right, He did a miracle and feed 5000 men plus the women and children (10,000-15,000 people).
But did you also notice that the disciples as well as the little boy who initially gave the bread and fish were all feed to?

So you see, even though you give to the church (which is really giving to God) God will always give back to you.
Something to think about next Sunday at church when you don't feel like your little amount won't do much.
In the hands of man it wont, but in the Hands of Jesus He will do miracles!
