Luke 8:39

"Return to your own house, and tell what great things God has done for you." And he went his way and proclaimed throughout the whole city what great things Jesus had done for him.

Some people would like to just quite their jobs and go into the ministry full time.
Some think how great it would be, to be a pastor or a missionary, or a Christian musician.
And there is nothing wrong with desiring to do these things. But the question is, what are you doing now?
Have you shared Jesus with those at work?
What about your family and friends? Sure they may know you are a Christian, but where are they going when they die, and what have you done about it?

So many times we want to quite our jobs because we just can't take it there anymore. It may be a bad place to work with people who don't love the Lord. They curse all the time and use the Lord's name in vain. They go out and party on the weekends and then come to work on Monday and brag about it.
You pray and pray for the Lord to get you out of there because it's just too awful.
Sound familiar? We have all been in this situation at one time or another.
But remember that Jesus is God, who came to earth in the flesh, and even God cannot be in the presence of sin, but He was willing to so He could save the lost.
Even in today's verse, this is Jesus speaking to a man who was demon possessed and Jesus cast the demons out of him. After that the man wanted to follow Jesus wherever He went. But Jesus told him to go back home and tell others what the Lord did for him. So as the verse says; And he went his way and proclaimed throughout the whole city what great things Jesus had done for him.

So take today's verse as Jesus speaking to you, and go home, to your work or even your friends and tell them about Jesus.
Only then will God prepare you for a possible full time ministry.
But then you may already have one in your own back yard?
