John 3:17

"For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through Him might be saved.

Did you know that you are a sinner?
"No Duh" you may be thinking.

Did you know that if Jesus was right here, right now, He wouldn't tell you that.
Remember the woman who was caught in adultery and how others where so quick to point out that she was a sinner.
But Jesus didn't say, "Well, you're a sinner to" like a little child would.
No, Jesus just silently wrote in the sand and said.

  • John 8:6-7 6 This they said, testing Him, that they might have something of which to accuse Him. But Jesus stooped down and wrote on the ground with His finger, as though He did not hear. 7 So when they continued asking Him, He raised Himself up and said to them, "He who is without sin among you, let him throw a stone at her first."

  • If you think about it, everyone knows that they are a sinner. Everyone knows that they have done wrong at one time or another. Anyone who says that they haven't has also just committed the sin of lying.

Also if you doubt if you have sinned, read the Ten Commandments or the book of Exodus or Leviticus.

So as today's verse says, For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world,

The Law of God shows people that they are a sinner, but the Law cannot save a person.

  • Romans 3:20 (NLT) For no one can ever be made right in God's sight by doing what his law commands. For the more we know God's law, the clearer it becomes that we aren't obeying it.

  • But there is hope for us all and it's at the end of today's verse. But that the world through Him might be saved.

So today, realize that you are a sinner, and call upon the Lord and be saved.

  • Romans 10:13 For "whoever calls on the name of the LORD shall be saved."
