John 14:6

Jesus said to him, "I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.


This Sunday, Crystal Lewis will be at out church. If you haven't heard of her she is a Christian recording artist who has a beautiful voice.
Everyone is excited about this and we are encouraged to invite people to church this Sunday to listen to her sing.

Well of course I have been inviting people, but as I was, I started to think, "How many time will we invite someone to church if someone special is there or to any other function?"
But then how many times do we invite others to church or even our own homes because someone even more important is there, and that person is Jesus!

Now it's not wrong to have special guests at church, and it's not wrong to invite others to come, especially our non-Christian friends and family. But in today's devotional verse Jesus says, "I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me."
It's not through special singers or great preachers but through the Holy Spirit speaking God's word to someone's heart. God can and will use anyone. He will use gifted singers and pastors, but God will also use you and me who are just ordinary people.

  • 1 Cor 1:27-29 (NLT) 27 Instead, God deliberately chose things the world considers foolish in order to shame those who think they are wise. And he chose those who are powerless to shame those who are powerful. 28 God chose things despised by the world, things counted as nothing at all, and used them to bring to nothing what the world considers important, 29 so that no one can ever boast in the presence of God.


    • I love this verse because I am one of those foolish things that God uses to confound the wise and bring others to Jesus. Not by my words or even by my teachings, but rather through God's word.

    So this week invite someone to church and let him or her know that one of the most famous, widely known person will be there. His name, Jesus Christ the Son of God!
