Prov 26:11 (NLT)
As a dog returns to its vomit, so a fool repeats his folly.
Being a Christian is so cool!
As I think back on what I used to be and the things I used to do, all I can say is, "Being a Christian is too cool!"
As Christians, we don't have to worry about waking up tomorrow morning with a hangover, or wonder who that person is in bed next to us.
We don't have to worry about making a fool of ourselves because we know we did something stupid the night before.
We don't have to worry about catching sexual transmitted diseases, or getting someone pregnant or getting pregnant yourself (if your woman).
We don't have to worry about hanging around with the wrong people in the wrong part of town.
We have friends we can really trust, friends who really care about us, not wanting anything in return.
We can read the bible and understand it; we have the best music to listen to because it's not about self and what we can get out of someone.
And most important is, we have the best friend that anyone could ever have. Someone that would never leave us or forsake us, and His name is Jesus.
John 15:13-17 13 "Greater love has no one than this, than to lay down one's life for his friends. 14 "You are My friends if you do whatever I command you. 15 "No longer do I call you servants, for a servant does not know what his master is doing; but I have called you friends, for all things that I heard from My Father I have made known to you. 16 "You did not choose Me, but I chose you and appointed you that you should go and bear fruit, and that your fruit should remain, that whatever you ask the Father in My name He may give you. 17 "These things I command you, that you love one another.
So when the people at work talk about what a good time they had over the weekend, don't desire to be like that again.
Today's devotional says that if you do, it's like a dog going back to lick up his vomit.
Sounds sick don't it?
Just as sick as returning to your old lifestyle.
