Prov 4:1-9 (NLT)

1 My children, listen to me. Listen to your father's instruction. Pay attention and grow wise, 2 for I am giving you good guidance. Don't turn away from my teaching. 3 For I, too, was once my father's son, tenderly loved by my mother as an only child.

4 My father told me, "Take my words to heart. Follow my instructions and you will live. 5 Learn to be wise, and develop good judgment. Don't forget or turn away from my words. 6 Don't turn your back on wisdom, for she will protect you. Love her, and she will guard you. 7 Getting wisdom is the most important thing you can do! And whatever else you do, get good judgment. 8 If you prize wisdom, she will exalt you. Embrace her and she will honor you. 9 She will place a lovely wreath on your head; she will present you with a beautiful crown."

Do you remember when you were a teenager and you thought you knew it all?
Now that you are grown up are you really any wiser?
Sure, you may know more, but are you wiser?
Anyone can obtain knowledge; knowledge tells you to look both ways before crossing the street. It also tells you not to spend more money then you actually have. I'm sure you have many definitions for knowledge and all the things you have learned over the years.
So how is wisdom different?
Wisdom is not learning by experience but by listening to others who are wiser or more knowledgeable then you.
Think of King Solomon, the wisest man ever to walk the earth (Next to Jesus of course).
But with all the wisdom that he had, he did not obtain it from experience, he got it from God and listening to Him.

Think about that for a minute, the world tells us what is good and bad. The world tells us that abortion is OK, getting drunk is OK as long as you don't drive. It also tells nudity, along with murder and killing in movies is OK.
Our world is going down hill, because of lack of wisdom from the one who gives that wisdom; God!
So today, even though you may not be a not a teenager, remember that we all need wisdom, and we can only receive it from God. Or one of his messengers called saints, which is a believer in God and has received Godly wisdom. And how do you know you are receiving Godly wisdom, it will be backed up by God's word!
So today become a little wiser and get that wisdom from God. It's easy, all you have to do is pickup His word.
