Prov 1:10-19 (NLT)

10 My child, if sinners entice you, turn your back on them! 11 They may say, "Come and join us. Let's hide and kill someone! Let's ambush the innocent! 12 Let's swallow them alive as the grave swallows its victims. Though they are in the prime of life, they will go down into the pit of death. 13 And the loot we'll get! We'll fill our houses with all kinds of things! 14 Come on, throw in your lot with us; we'll split our loot with you."

15 Don't go along with them, my child! Stay far away from their paths. 16 They rush to commit crimes. They hurry to commit murder. 17 When a bird sees a trap being set, it stays away. 18 But not these people! They set an ambush for themselves; they booby-trap their own lives! 19 Such is the fate of all who are greedy for gain. It ends up robbing them of life.

Today it's not very likely that someone will say to you, "let's go kill someone".
Today it's more like, "let's go have a drink after work" . No matter what they say, you know it's not what God want's you to do.
"But it's so innocent" you may say, "and I can witness to them there".
Are you using God as an excuse to go sin?
Maybe you truly have good motives for what you are doing. But don't go on Satan's territory; go on God's territory.
Temptation can be so subtle that we sometimes don't see it. Verse 17 say's, "When a bird sees a trap being set, it stays away."
How do we know when a trap is being set for us? Stay in God's word.
Remember yesterday's devotion in Psalms 1:2? Meditate on Gods word continually and you will see the traps that are set before you.
It's so easy to be a hearer or reader of God's word, but harder to do it.
Today start being a doer and start with verse 15 Don't go along with them, my child! Stay far away from their paths.
