John 3:5-8
5 Jesus answered, "Most assuredly, I say to you, unless one is born of water and the Spirit, he cannot enter the kingdom of God. 6 "That which is born of the flesh is flesh, and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit. 7 "Do not marvel that I said to you, 'You must be born again.' 8 "The wind blows where it wishes, and you hear the sound of it, but cannot tell where it comes from and where it goes. So is everyone who is born of the Spirit."
This is Paul speaking here to the church in Corinth, the same Paul who wrote 1/3 of the New Testament.
Paul is saying that when he first came to the people in Corinth, he didn't use big fancy words; in fact he states that he was even shaking when he was speaking.
Do you feel like that when you speak of Jesus Christ? Are you shaking and your palms all sweaty, and you seem to stumble over your words?
Well don't feel bad if you do, because that's the same way Paul felt.
But even though he may have felt that way, he still focused on Jesus Christ and His death on the cross.
People want to argue theology, or that the bible is not true, or that there are inconsistencies in the bible. They focus on everything but Jesus.
But when you share Jesus with others, don't get caught up in these things, but keep the focus on Jesus Christ.
Maybe you're not that educated in regards to the bible, and you may be like me and have trouble remembering scripture (I have a real bad memory with names, numbers and a lot of other things).
But if you keep the focus on Jesus, it's easy because you know Him from having a personal relationship with Him.
You know that He died for you and that He has forgiven you for your sins. You know that you are forgiven by Jesus' death on the cross, and you believe that He rose from the dead.
Those are the things you should share with others, and let them know that He did it not just for you, but for them also.
So go ahead and shake and stammer, and let your palms drip with sweat. Just remember that it's the Lord using you just as you are, and He will open the ears of the person you are speaking to through the power of the Holy Spirit, so that they understand about Jesus.
You never know, maybe someday you'll be a great teacher like Paul was, but then the greatness is really Jesus in your life, the power of the Holy Spirit working through you, and you sharing Jesus with others!
