Ezek 33:11 (NLT)

As surely as I live, says the Sovereign LORD, I take no pleasure in the death of wicked people. I only want them to turn from their wicked ways so they can live. Turn! Turn from your wickedness, O people of Israel! Why should you die?

How many times have you heard that God isn't fair, or that God just doesn't care about the world?
Maybe you think the same things sometimes?

God is not angry and God does care.
It's not that God hates the world; it's just that God cannot be in the presence of sin or approve of sin.

Here, God is pleading with the children of Israel to turn from their wicked ways. Not because he hates them, but because He loves them.
God also wants you to turn from your wicked sinful ways to. Not because God hates you, but because He loves you.

Think of your children or someone in your family who has turned out really bad.
Maybe they are drunks or use drugs, or sleep with any and everyone. Maybe they cheat and steal and hurt people.
You want them to change from their wickedness, not out of hatred, but out of love for them.
You know that what they are doing is no way to live, and they will hurt themselves and possibly others to.

Welcome to God's point of view. God's not trying to ruin your fun. He wants us all to be happy here on earth. But the fun you may be having may not be good for you or others.

You've heard the expression "Good clean fun". That's what God wants for us.
But I think God puts it better as he says in today's verse:

I only want them to turn from their wicked ways so they can live.

Turn to Jesus today, and live like you never have before!
