with God

2 Cor 1:3-4

3 Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies and God of all comfort, 4 who comforts us in all our tribulation, that we may be able to comfort those who are in any trouble, with the comfort with which we ourselves are comforted by God.

Have you ever been through something really bad and you wondered how you would ever get through it, then all of a sudden there is a peace and comfort through this hard time?
That peace and comfort is from the Lord, as we read in today's devotional verses.

There are different ways that will God comfort us. One way, is that God will bring someone around you to comfort you.
This is a person who has been through what you have been through so they understand just what you are going through.
Other times it will be as we are reading God's word, and we realize that Jesus went through the same thing we are going through.

But God always comforts us in our tribulations!
So next time you are around someone who is having a hard time, remember how God helped you through your hard time, and give them the same comfort God gave to you.
That's one reason why we sometimes go through things, so that we can minister to others.
That's one reason why Jesus went through all things, so that He can minister to us.

  • Heb 2:17-18 (NLT) 17 Therefore, it was necessary for Jesus to be in every respect like us, his brothers and sisters, so that he could be our merciful and faithful High Priest before God. He then could offer a sacrifice that would take away the sins of the people. 18 Since he himself has gone through suffering and temptation, he is able to help us when we are being tempted.
