Heb 11:32 & 35-37 (NLT)

32 Well, how much more do I need to say? It would take too long to recount the stories of the faith of Gideon, Barak, Samson, Jephthah, David, Samuel, and all the prophets.

35 Women received their loved ones back again from death. But others trusted God and were tortured, preferring to die rather than turn from God and be free. They placed their hope in the resurrection to a better life.36 Some were mocked, and their backs were cut open with whips. Others were chained in dungeons. 37 Some died by stoning, and some were sawed in half; others were killed with the sword. Some went about in skins of sheep and goats, hungry and oppressed and mistreated.

Faith is sometimes not always what we think it is.

By faith we can move mountains, walk on water, and heal the sick.
But also because of our faith we may/will be persecuted.

Do people make fun of you at work or school just because you profess Jesus as your Lord and Savior?
Maybe you are made fun of at home by your own family. We wonder "How could God allow this to happen to me. I'm one of His children?"
But reading today's verse you are in good company. Read some of the things the early Christians went through again.

36 Some were mocked, and their backs were cut open with whips. Others were chained in dungeons. 37 Some died by stoning, and some were sawed in half; others were killed with the sword. Some went about in skins of sheep and goats, hungry and oppressed and mistreated.

But still they believed by faith that God had a better way of life for them. Maybe not here on this earth, but if you think about it. Everyone of the Christians Paul is speaking of here, right now is in heaven.
And they made it not because of what they did or went through, but because of what Jesus did on the cross for them. And not just them, but you also!

God did not bring these things upon them, nor is He bringing them upon you. Satan is doing that. Why, Because he hates Christians, and doesn't want them to love God, or His Son Jesus.

So don't believe that God is doing this to you. These are lies Satan is telling you. But instead, pray for the salvation of those who are making fun of you!

Matt 5:44 "But I say to you, love your enemies, bless those who curse you, do good to those who hate you, and pray for those who spitefully use you and persecute you,
