with God

Gen 2:20-22

20 So Adam gave names to all cattle, to the birds of the air, and to every beast of the field. But for Adam there was not found a helper comparable to him. 21 And the LORD God caused a deep sleep to fall on Adam, and he slept; and He took one of his ribs, and closed up the flesh in its place. 22 Then the rib which the LORD God had taken from man He made into a woman, and He brought her to the man.

Some of you reading this may be single and looking for your future spouse. Or some of you may have no desire to marry, which is OK to.

But for those of you that are single and are looking to get married, notice the last part of verse 22.

and He brought her to the man.

Adam didn't have to go looking for a wife; God brought her to him.
Sometimes in your desperation to be married, you may make a choice that you will be sorry for in the future.
He or she may seem OK now, but are they really a person of God, or are they just putting on a show to get you to marry them, or even sin with them?
If he or she is a person of God, then they will be patient, and your relationship with God will be first, and your relationship to them will be second.
If this relationship causes you to take your eyes off of God, then I would think twice and really seek the Lord.

If you are looking to marry, don't be hasty and accept second best, but rather listen to what God says:

  • Phil 4:6-7 6 Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God; 7 and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.

  • Pray and be patient, waiting on the Lord to bring you your future spouse that He is preparing for you.

If God is doing the preparation, then He or she will be worth the wait.

Plus God is preparing you for him or her also!
