Prov 22:13 (NLT)

The lazy person is full of excuses, saying, "If I go outside, I might meet a lion in the street and be killed!"

We ask, "Take out the trash."
The reply, "I will during a commercial"

We ask, "Do your homework"
The reply, "I will after I take out the trash."

We say, "It's time to go to bed."
The reply, "I will after I finish my homework."

We ask ourselves, "How did my child become so lazy or just slow on doing things?"

God asks, "Pray for those people on the news."
Our reply, "I will during a commercial."

God asks, "Read my word."
Our reply, "I will after I pray for that person."

God asks, "Do you love Me?"
Our reply, "I will after I read Your word."

One more thought on today's verse.

We ask, "Go to sleep"
The reply, "I can't, there's a monster under my bed."

God asks, "Love your neighbor."
Our reply, "If I go outside a lion might get me."
