5 Minutes a day / 5 Days a week

with God

1 Thess 4:13-18

13 But I do not want you to be ignorant, brethren, concerning those who have fallen asleep, lest you sorrow as others who have no hope. 14 For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so God will bring with Him those who sleep in Jesus. 15 For this we say to you by the word of the Lord, that we who are alive and remain until the coming of the Lord will by no means precede those who are asleep. 16 For the Lord Himself will descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of an archangel, and with the trumpet of God. And the dead in Christ will rise first. 17 Then we who are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. And thus we shall always be with the Lord. 18 Therefore comfort one another with these words.

We all face death at one time or another in our lives.
Maybe it's a close friend or loved one. Maybe someone you know right now is facing this very situation of a recent death in the family.
What can we say to these people to comfort them?
Paul tells us right here the words to speak in verses 13-17. Read them again and be encouraged with these words of hope in Jesus Christ and His return to takes us home.

My dad fell asleep over ten years ago and is with Jesus right now.
A close friend of mine's father fell asleep last year, and the only thing I could think of is that his dad and mine were with Jesus right at that moment, talking with Him, praising Him and are totally comforted with no more pain or tears.
And the exciting thing is we will all be there together one day as believers in Jesus.

That is our hope, which is in Jesus Christ. He who concurred death for us on the cross, so we don't have to worry about or loved ones or ourselves when we die.

One of the most exciting things to me is the rapture of the church, (which are the believers in Jesus Christ.)
With all that is going on in Israel right now and we seeing prophecy being fulfilled right before our eye's, and the time being so close at hand, that I find myself continually looking up waiting to be taken away at any moment.
I get goose bumps thinking about being caught up by Jesus and leaving this world of sin and starting eternity in heaven with Him.

If that isn't words of encouragement, then I don't know what is!
