5 Minutes a day / 5 Days a week
with God
Luke 11:39-40
39 Then the Lord said to him, "Now you Pharisees make the outside of the cup and dish clean, but your inward part is full of greed and wickedness. 40 "Foolish ones! Did not He who made the outside make the inside also?
How much time did you spend getting ready for work this morning? Maybe 20 or 30 minutes, which may have included a shower, brushing your teeth and hair. For the women putting on makeup. What about breakfast, or preparing your cup of coffee?
I know for me, I'm useless until I have had my morning shower and coffee.
We spend so much time each day to prepare for the day, wanting to look and feel or best to do a good job at work or even at home.
So how much time did you spend preparing for what the Lord would have you to do today?
What do I mean?
It could very well be that the Lord might send someone to you to help him or her out, or pray with them, or just listen with a loving ear.
Have you asked the Lord to prepare you for what He has for you today? Or have you spent time in God's word preparing for the battles of the day with the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God?
But it doesn't really matter because you sure do look and feel good.
So how does that help out others when they are in need of pray or God's word?
Satan doesn't care if you look good or not, he doesn't fear your looks. No, he fears God's word because it is truth.
John 17:17 "Sanctify them by Your truth. Your word is truth.
Psalms 119:160 The entirety of Your word is truth, And every one of Your righteous judgments endures forever.
God's word is not a beauty cream to cover up your sins, but rather it's a washing to totally remove your sins.
Eph 5:26-27 26 that He might sanctify and cleanse her with the washing of water by the word, 27 that He might present her to Himself a glorious church, not having spot or wrinkle or any such thing, but that she should be holy and without blemish.
Go ahead and prepare for the day. Take a shower, brush your teeth, drink your coffee and most important spend time in prayer and in God's word!
Psalms 119:103 How sweet are Your words to my taste, Sweeter than honey to my mouth!
Ezek 2:8 "But you, son of man, hear what I say to you. Do not be rebellious like that rebellious house; open your mouth and eat what I give you."
Matt 4:4 But He answered and said, "It is written, 'Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceeds from the mouth of God.' "
