with God
Romans 2:21-24 (NLT)
21 Well then, if you teach others, why don't you teach yourself? You tell others not to steal, but do you steal? 22 You say it is wrong to commit adultery, but do you do it? You condemn idolatry, but do you steal from pagan temples? 23 You are so proud of knowing the law, but you dishonor God by breaking it. 24 No wonder the Scriptures say, "The world blasphemes the name of God because of you."
We have all heard the term; "You are what you eat."
But let me give you a new term; "You are what you do."
The world watches us all the time. They want to see if we really walk the talk.
Are you?
Are you teaching others the way to God, yet when you are alone at home or with your family are you doing the opposite of what you are telling them?
We get so proud of knowing the bible yet we don't truly live what we read or tell others.
Sure, we all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God. But should that give us a reason to continue in or sins?
Paul says:
Romans 6:1-2 (NLT) 1 Well then, should we keep on sinning so that God can show us more and more kindness and forgiveness? 2 Of course not! Since we have died to sin, how can we continue to live in it?
"But I am struggling right now, how can you say such things" you may be thinking.
We all struggle with sin and it's not fun while we are. But we can't use the excuse of struggling to give into sin.
We must continue to look to Jesus who is:
Heb 12:2a looking unto Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith,
Just don't give up because you fall into sin, or give into temptation.
Like they say, when you fall off a horse, you should get back on it again.
So it is with our walk with the Lord, when you fall, get back up and continue knowing that you are loved and forgiven by Jesus.
That is what we need to show others. Jesus' love and forgiveness.
