with God
Romans 1:18-20 (NLT)
18 But God shows his anger from heaven against all sinful, wicked people who push the truth away from themselves. 19 For the truth about God is known to them instinctively. God has put this knowledge in their hearts. 20 From the time the world was created, people have seen the earth and sky and all that God made. They can clearly see his invisible qualities--his eternal power and divine nature. So they have no excuse whatsoever for not knowing God.
"God is in the trees. He's in the clouds; the bushes and even in the flowers. God is everywhere", Have you ever heard people say that?
Well, it's not true. God is not in the tress or any other thing. But God did create them all.
People who say that God is in everything also say that you are a god. Which is also incorrect.
There is only one God, and He is the creator of all things.
I didn't create anything and neither did you. We are not gods!
Plus what kind of a god needs someone else to tell them that they are a god?
God knows He is God, no one had to tell Him.
We even hear sweet stories of how, when it rains, that it's God crying. This is also incorrect. God created the clouds and the rain, but He is not crying to cause the rain.
I think it's very important to understand that even though these are sweet little stories, no matter how harmless they seem, that they are a lie of Who the true and living God is. These stories do not represent the God of the bible, or the God that you and I serve.
So don't worship a tree or flower or any other created thing. And don't get caught up in sweet fuzzy stories that lessen God. Rather serve and worship the living God of the bible who sent His only Son to die for your sins, and rose on the third day and sits at the right hand of God even now.
Finally God says:
Romans 1:25 (NLT) Instead of believing what they knew was the truth about God, they deliberately chose to believe lies. So they worshiped the things God made but not the Creator himself, who is to be praised forever. Amen.
