5 Minutes a day / 5 Days a week

with God

Psalms 9:1-2

1 I will praise You, O LORD, with my whole heart;
I will tell of all Your marvelous works.
2 I will be glad and rejoice in You;
I will sing praise to Your name, O Most High.

Psalms 118:24

24 This is the day the LORD has made;
We will rejoice and be glad in it.

Today is the day that the Lord has made, be glad and rejoice in it!
Notice that it doesn't say, "when things are going good rejoice or be happy"
One of the hardest things to do is rejoice when things aren't going good.
So how do you rejoice or be happy if things aren't going the way that they should?

  • 1 Thess 4:16-18 16 For the Lord Himself will descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of an archangel, and with the trumpet of God. And the dead in Christ will rise first. 17 Then we who are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. And thus we shall always be with the Lord. 18 Therefore comfort one another with these words.

  • 1 Thess 5:11 Therefore comfort each other and edify one another, just as you also are doing.

  • First off, remember that Jesus will take us home someday. Think about it, all of a sudden we could all be gone, not having to taste of death and any pain that brings it.
    In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye we will be gone and will be in the presence of Jesus.
    If that's not something to look forward to then I don't know what is!
    Second, we are to comfort one another. If you see someone down or you know they are going through some struggles, be there for them. Tell them of God's marvelous works as it says in verse 1 of Psalms 9.

    If you practice rejoicing in the Lord everyday, then when trials or struggles happen it will come as second nature to just glorify the creator of all things and our Savior, Jesus!
