2 Cor 5:11 (Living)
It is because of this solemn fear of the Lord, which is ever present in our minds, that we work so hard to win others. God knows our hearts, that they are pure in this matter, and I hope that, deep within, you really know it too.
Today as you are at work, or the store, or school or wherever you are today; start looking at people in a different way.
Look into the eyes of the people and realize that they are going to hell.
It is a very scary thing if you really think about it. It's the fear of the Lord spoken of here in today's verse.
But we as Christians take that too lightly and we don't seem to fear the Lord or have fear for others.
We seem to forget that we were also destined for that same place, but through the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, we have been saved.
Eph 2:8 For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God,
But what about others?
We seem to take God's word for us on a personal basis, but it's not just for us but also for everyone else. Including the person sitting next to you in your office, at school, standing next to you in the grocery store or wherever you are. Jesus died for them also and He wants them to be saved. God's word says:
Romans 10:14 (NLT) But how can they call on him to save them unless they believe in him? And how can they believe in him if they have never heard about him? And how can they hear about him unless someone tells them?
"But I haven't been sent" , you may be thinking.
But you have:
Mark 16:15 And He said to them, "Go into all the world and preach the gospel to every creature.
Jesus was speaking these words to His disciples, but not just them but to every one of us.
Once again if you want to take God's word for you as an individual, then you must also take this verse for you also. We can't pick and choose which verses are speaking to us, on the basis of if it's something you want to do or not.
As Christians we need to stop looking at what we want God to do for us, and start asking God what we can do for Him. And He tells us straight through the mouth of His Son, Jesus Himself. Read it again.
Mark 16:15 And He said to them, "Go into all the world and preach the gospel to every creature.
Look into the eyes of people today and have a heart like God does, realizing they are going to hell and you have been sent to warn them!
