with God
1 John 5:14
Now this is the confidence that we have in Him, that if we ask anything according to His will, He hears us.
In your prayer time this morning or today, what did you ask God for?
Maybe good health, or a new job? What about to meet that special person you just know God has for you out there somewhere?
Did you pray for others? And if so what did you ask for, for them?
Now that you have remembered some of the things you prayed for. Here is another question. Before you asked God for these things, did you ask if they were His will?
"Well of course it's His will, I asked for someone to be healed and that's His will." You may be saying.
Or maybe, "God doesn't want me to be lonely without a husband or wife, of course it's His will."
Are you sure? I ask once again, did you ask Him?
In today's devotional it says if we ask anything according to "His will" not what you "think" His will is, but what His will is.
We always try to second-guess God or think we know what God wants. But in reality we only know what we want.
Even in the Lord's prayer it says.
Matt 6:10 Your kingdom come. Your will be done On earth as it is in heaven.
Here is a little suggestion in your prayer time. Before you ask for anything either for yourself or others, ask the Lord to show you His will that you may pray according to His will and not your own.
When you pray His will, you will see more answered prayers.
Just like it says at the end of today verse: "He hears us!"
