with God

2 Tim 1:9 (NLT)

It is God who saved us and chose us to live a holy life. He did this not because we deserved it, but because that was his plan long before the world began--to show his love and kindness to us through Christ Jesus.

I am known for not taking vacations. I am so busy with work and Bible Study and everything else that I never really think about it.
But I am happy to say in a few weeks my wife and I are taking a vacation.
We have been planning on what we will do and where we will go and what we will see.
But I already know that there will be things that we want to do that we just wont have time to do. Our plans will not always work out exactly how we want them to.

So what does this have to do with today's devotional?
Before God created the world, He made plans for our salvation.
And unlike my plans that will not all work out how I expect them to, God's plans worked exactly how He expected them to.
And what where His plans? For us to spend eternity with Him in heaven.
Have you ever thought about that?
When God decided to create the heavens and the earth, along with man. He knew man would fall into sin and He would have to make a way for us to be with Him, even though we were sinners.
It wasn't a surprise to God when Adam and Eve sinned; it was all part of His perfect plan.
And the exciting thing is, when He made these plans, He was thinking of you. That's right, He was thinking, I know that _______ will sin and I will make a way, despite their sins, for them to be with Me forever in heaven.
And what was that way? That's right, through His Son Jesus Christ.
When God created the heavens and the earth, He knew that by doing so He would have to sacrifice His only Son Jesus. But He loves us so much that He was willing to do that.
And He did it for you, and me too!
