1 Kings 18:16-18 (NLT)

16 So Obadiah went to tell Ahab that Elijah had come, and Ahab went out to meet him. 17 "So it's you, is it--Israel's troublemaker?" Ahab asked when he saw him.

18 "I have made no trouble for Israel," Elijah replied. "You and your family are the troublemakers, for you have refused to obey the commands of the LORD and have worshiped the images of Baal instead.

"Oh no, here comes that darn Christian". Is that what people say about you?

The world sees us as troublemakers because we don't follow or accept their ways.
But just like Elijah said to Ahab (an evil king), you are the troublemaker because you don't follow the Lord.
And that's the way it is with the world. They don't understand that the real problem is in following the ways of the world instead of the ways of God.
God has given us commands, not to be mean or stop us from having a good time, but to keep us safe and protect us.

The world says go ahead and party and get drunk. The results are, hangover, making a fool of yourself, and possibly hurting or even killing someone.
God says,

  • Eph 5:18 And do not be drunk with wine, in which is dissipation; but be filled with the Spirit,

  • And the results, no hangover, no making a fool of yourself, and no hurting or killing someone.

The world says sex before marriage is OK and even condones it. The results are, aids, unwanted pregnancies, heartache and broken families, children in orphanages.

    God says,

  • Heb 13:4 Marriage is honorable among all, and the bed undefiled; but fornicators and adulterers God will judge.

  • The results, no diseases, planned and wanted children, joy and strong family values.

So next time the world make fun of you because you are a Christian. Have compassion on them and pray for them that God will open their eyes to the lie they are living, and to be able to see the truth, which is Jesus Christ.

  • John 8:31-32 31 Then Jesus said to those Jews who believed Him, "If you abide in My word, you are My disciples indeed. 32 "And you shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free."
